Tribal Romance by Cocoon Fine Rugs

Their latest collection titled Tribal Romance is an exquisite line of 11 curated antique tribal carpets from Persia, Anatolia, the Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Dagestan), Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and various Kurdish enclaves. Each of the rugs from the collection has been hand-spun by ethnic groups including the Qashqai, Luri, Bakhtiari and Kurds. As many of these tribes were nomadic and migrated for climatic reasons in the early years, the weavings are a fantastic potpourri of diverse ethnicities, tribal lifestyles and indigenous customs. Moreover, as these rugs were created from their imagination and whimsically improvised as they went along, you’ll find a bold change of colour, asymmetric drawings, a clumsy shape or something completely intangible through the entire collection.
